During the IVC2018, a number of performances are specially supported by our very capable resident pianists. All of them have significant experience with the viola repertoire. Next to the recitals, they also support the numerous masterclasses with talented viola students from all over the world. Here we proudly present our resident pianists: Caecilia Boschman, Daniël Kramer and Noriko Yabe.
Caecilia Boschman – Pianist
Caecilia Boschman studied piano with Frans van Hoek at the Conservatory in Rotterdam where she graduated both as a teacher and as a soloist. After graduation she went on to study with Jan Wijn. Caecilia participates in several chamber music ensembles, including the Ophelia Trio and the Pelgrim Trio. Together with violist Karin Dolman she reached the final during the International Duo Competition in Vierzon. The duo has recorded a number of CD’s under the name of Voilà viola! With the three singers of Pocket Opera Caecilia performes annually in the Dutch theaters. At the moment she is touring with soprano Bauwien van der Meer with the performance of Fantastic Women.

Daniël Kramer – Pianist
Daniël Kramer is known as a many-sided and impassioned pianist. He took up his main studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Håkon Austbø, also taking regular lessons with Claude Helffer in Paris. In 2000 he was awarded his performance diploma, with distinction.
In 2007 he was honoured with a special mention in the prestigious Concours Olivier Messiaen in Paris. In 2008, the jury of the Seghizzi Competition in Italy awarded him the prize for the best piano accompanist.
Daniël has participated in master classes given by eminent pianists, including Pierre-Laurent Aimard, György Sándor and Murray Perahia. As a soloist he performed with the Radio Chamber, The Hague Philharmonic and the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, in chamber music with as Nobuko Imai, Charles Neidich and Janine Jansen.

Noriko Yabe – Pianist
Noriko Yabe (Yokohama, Japan) studied with Fujiko Yamada at the Toho-Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, and later with Willem Brons at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Immediately after receiving her diploma, she was employed as répétiteur at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. She is also the regular pianist at music festivals such as the Summer Academy of The International Holland Music Sessions in Bergen (North-Holland) and the Cello Biënnale Amsterdam.
